1962-1979 Flywheel Shim Assortment 10 Pieces

This assortment of shims will be contain what you need to mount the flywheel correctly. Having this shim kit on hand when installing your flywheel will save you from waiting for shims to arrive.

Flywheel shims are used to take up the excess gap between the main bearing and the flywheel. The use of shims of varying thickness allows the gap to be set to the .005 spec, minimize bearing and case wear.

Note: Don't forget you will need to torque the "Gland Nut" to 250 ft/lbs (check your shop manual for your specific model), so you may want to consider a "Flywheel Gland Nut Tool" and "Flywheel Lock" to do the job right. See "Related Products" below.
