You should always replace your Locking Washer when doing maintenance on your Flywheel. Our Locking Washer for the Gland Nut is manufactured for a direct fit in your Volkswagen. This spring type washer prevents the Gland Nut from coming loose. Overheating can cause the tension on the spring to fail. The Locking Washer fits between the Flywheel & the Gland Nut.
