This Air Cooled VW Autostick Shifter Cable fits at the bottom of the shifter and activates the vacuum servo on Autostick VW models. This cable is not used on Standard Transaxles. The autostick engages automatically when the gear lever is operated. Attached to the lower shift lever is a signal generator cable that transmits the gear shift signal to the transmission. Broken or damaged cables cause lack of signals  to transmission.
