1968-1977 Fuel Tank Sending Unit 113919049D - German Quality - OEM Number(s) (113-919-049-D)

If you’re tired of second-guessing your gas level or driving with fingers crossed, this is the fix. It’s simple, it’s reliable, and it brings your vintage VW back to factory-spec performance. Built to the original specifications with reliable output and quality materials, this German-Made fuel tank sending unit restores accurate fuel level readings and helps you avoid inconvenient surprises at the pump. After decades of use, factory units often corrode or seize, sending false readings or none at all. Replacing a failing unit ensures you're not left guessing how far you can go. And this one makes it easy - right down to the included gasket and hardware.

Made in Germany!

To diagnose a faulty original you can easily test your sending unit with just a multimeter:

  1. Set your multimeter to resistance (ohms).
  2. Connect one probe to the unit’s terminal and the other to the mounting plate (ground).
  3. Manually move the float arm slowly from the bottom (empty) to top (full):
    • You should see a reading sweep from approximately 73 ohms (empty) to 10 ohms (full).
  4. Erratic, stuck, or no readings? Time to replace it.

Pro Tip: You can use this same test on the new unit before installing it to confirm functionality.
