It is recommended to put a coat of wax once every 3 months or so to prevent premature rusting of this mirror. The chroming techniques are not what they were 20 plus years ago due to stricter emissions rules and regulations, So the chroming is thinner than OEM.
Tech Note: It may be necessary to chase (clean) the threads before installation. A tight fit is normal.
