This Air Cooled Volkswagen Bus Speedometer Cable connects to the wheel bearing cap and spins with the wheel telling the speedometer how fast you are going. The end of the cable tends to wear out first causing a false speedometer reading. The end goes through the inside of the LH side front wheel dust cap and both the square hole in the dust cap and the square end of the speedometer cable are commonly rounded out.
We also sell the "C" clip that retains the speedometer cable in the proper location on the dust cap. These tend to stretch over time and fall off. Its a good idea to replace the C clip when you replace the speedometer cable as well.
