1968-1969 Beetle Windshield Wiper Pivot Shaft LH Double Pin 111998161B - OEM Number(s) (111-998-161-B)

Restore correct windshield wiper operation on your Volkswagen Beetle with this reproduction LH double pin wiper pivot shaft with hardware included.

The Volkswagen Beetle wiper pivot shaft is the mechanical link between the wiper motor and the wiper arm. When the shaft wears, corrodes, or seizes from lack of lubrication, wipers stop moving correctly — or stop moving altogether. On a daily driver or a restored Beetle, that is not a situation you want in the rain.

This reproduction LH double pin wiper pivot shaft is built from steel and brass and installs as a direct replacement for the original. Hardware is included. The wiper arms connect directly to these shafts, so the full assembly will need to be disconnected to complete the swap — plan accordingly before you start.

Fits the Following Volkswagen Models:

Fits 1968–1969 Volkswagen Beetle.

  • Reproduction LH double pin wiper pivot shaft for 1968–1969 VW Beetle

Material / Finish:

Steel and brass combination construction for strength, correct fit, and long service life.

Tech Tip:

Most wiper pivot shafts fail from age, seal damage, and lack of lubrication. Lubricate the shaft every 90 days by removing the wiper arm, gently removing the plastic seal, and applying a few drops of oil where the shaft protrudes from the brass barrel. Switch the wiper motor on with the arms still removed and apply a few more drops to ensure full oil penetration. While the assembly is out, apply a small amount of white grease to all moving parts.

Because Details Matter:

Windshield wipers are one of those systems you never think about until they fail — and on a Beetle, a seized or worn pivot shaft is one of the most common reasons they do. This reproduction shaft puts correct function back where it belongs, and a simple lubrication routine every three months will keep it working long after the repair is done.
