1963-1979 Heater or Engine Pre-Heat Aluminum Hose 50mm ID x 1 Meter
Good hoses are vital to Air Cooled Volkswagen Engine longevity. Although they are a small detail to your engine, a worn or cracked hose can leak, causing problems such as engine overheating, incorrect ignition timing, poor fuel mileage, and inadequate interior heat.
This Aluminum Fresh Air Heater Hose connects the Fan Shroud to the Muffler. It also works for the carburetor pre-heat hose on 1968 and up models.
Note: 1 meter long fully extended. This item must be extended to full length in order to cut in half so it will work on both sides of your heater pipes. Cutting the hose is easy. We recommend using a sharp utility knife and some side cutters.
Tech Note: Serious engine damage can be caused by leaking or missing fresh air hoses. Fresh air pumped from the cooling fan housing pushes thru your fresh air hoses on their way thru the heating system. Your cooling fan produces enough excess volume to compensate for heater use. But if your Fresh Air Hoses or other main heater components are missing, then enough air can escape the Cooling System to run short on the volume of air flowing past the cylinders and cylinder heads thus allowing the Air Cooled VW Engine to overheat !
