This tank is designed as a direct replacement for your original, but with 2.5 extra gallons of capacity for fewer stops at the gas station. Built to match VW specifications for fitment and quality, it requires a special gas cap (sold separately). Each tank is manufactured with a protective rust inhibitor inside, which must be cleaned out prior to installation to ensure reliable performance.
