1950-1979 Beetle Convertible Reinforcement Rail Heavy Duty RH 69 x 5-1/2
If the doors on your VW Beetle or Super Beetle Convertible do not close correctly or if they rattle, there's a good chance that your support rails are rusted and need to be replaced. The Convertible body relies on these support rails for strength and support through the door frame area of the body. Our heavy duty 1950-1979 VW Beetle Convertible RH Reinforcement Rails come complete with jack point supports in place.
Convertible Reinforcement Rails were designed to support the convertible body since it has no hard top to stabilize its form. The rails weld beneath the heater channel assemblies which are located directly below the doors. Examine your rails by looking under the car just inside where the running boards attach. Rails extend down two inches and have jack point supports extending outward near the rear of the rails.
If your car has high mileage or has been exposed to moisture over the year it is likely your reinforcements rails have damage or are completely rusted away exposing the bottom heater channel plates.
Mid America Motorworks' complete Convertible Reinforcement Rail replacements are made from heavy 16 gauge steel and include jack point supports, which are already installed. Our rails are welded into an original form and are completely ready for installation.

Upon receipt, all body panels must be checked for fit. The nature of vintage cars is that there is normally some fitting, grinding or filling necessary to make new parts fit older and perhaps modified cars. This is normal and is not considered a valid reason to return a part.
Parts which have been modified or painted by the customer or their body shop are not eligible for return. If you are employing a body shop or paint shop, please make them aware of this.
When ordering sheet metal or body panels, please be certain of the actual year and design of the part you are replacing. We have found that a substantial percentage of Vintage VW’s have parts from a different year or generation. We can help you identify what you have and what you need.
These Replacement Vintage Air Cooled VW sheet metal panels are quality replacement parts produced by companies worldwide. These parts are delivered to us and then to you using ships, trains, trucks and local carriers. Scratches in the rust preventative paint (not considered primer) and minor dings are not unusual and cannot be prevented. Minor flaws are not considered damaged product.
