How to Install a 1968-1976 C3 Corvette Manual Shift Boot
Tools Required:
Installation Steps:

Inspect the shift boot to ensure it is correct for your year and color.

Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.

Remove the 4 screws (one in each corner) securing the shifter console plate.

Unscrew and remove the shifter knob, spring, and reverse lockout assembly.

Lift the console plate and disconnect any switches, lighter, or fiber optics (if equipped).
Remove the console plate.

Push the shift boot down through the plate and remove the 4 screws holding the boot.
Remove the old boot.

Position the new boot on the plate and mark the 4 mounting hole locations.
Remove the boot and drill holes using a 1/8" drill bit.

Reinstall the boot and secure it with the 4 retaining screws.

Reinstall the console plate, reconnecting switches, lighter, and fiber optics.

Reinstall the 4 console plate screws.
-
Reinstall the reverse lockout, spring, and shifter knob.
