C4 1989-1994 Corvette Manual Shift Knob Reverse Lockout prevents your Corvette from shifting from a forward drive gear to reverse until you lift up on lock out ring, you will be able to tell if this lock-out is broke, you will not be able to shift into reverse, this is a manual type lock-out, not an electric device. When Rod is lifted you can go into reverse , if button does not lift the rod, you will not be able to shift shift into reverse. Look closely at ring on shift lever you will notice if it is broke.
