1982-1996 Corvette engine performance depends heavily upon the various electronic engine management sensors.  Manifold Absolute Pressure is one bit of data that is critical to efficient and economical engine performance. Variances in intake manifold pressure information is fed to the ECM, which uses it to adapt fuel mixture to different driving conditions, even different altitudes.
