The Big Mouth Air Dam is a perfect way to add some Performance to your 1984-1996 Corvette. It installs in about 45 minutes by removing the stock spoiler center bracket and drilling 4-1/8" holes in the skid bar. The Dam then fits on top of the lower radiator baffle and bolts in place. Included with the Powder Coated Dam is Stainless Steel Hardware and installation instructions.
The following graphic representations were provided by K. Hastings after he installed the C4 Big Mouth Air Dam on his Corvette. He's shared his own data over a range of driving conditions and the results speak well of the real-world performance he's obtained from his C4 Big Mouth Air Dam.
Keep in mind that each Corvette is going to respond according to its environment, its overall condition, and various other factors. Your own results may vary a bit from these numbers based on a combination of normal operational variations and owner installed aftermarket parts.
What these graphics indicate is that under normal operating conditions the Corvette without the BMAD ran hotter. Once you install the Big Mouth Performance Air Dam your operating temperatures and cool down sequence will change dramatically.
The reason this occurs in all Corvettes is because we have changed the stock low pressure zone with a high-pressure zone Big Mouth Air Dam (BMAD)
As an added feature is your radiator cavity will stay cleaner!
