Subject: Anti-Theft Alarm System Interim Modifications

Several modifications to the 1977 Corvette anti-theft alarm system were introduced into production effective March 21, 1977 with VIN 1Z37X7S427373.

(2nd Design) modifications are as follows:
- The actuating switch for the alarm system is no longer located on the left (driver's side) front fender. It has been incorporated into the left front door lock and must be activated by locking this door with the key from the outside of the vehicle. This is the *ONLY* way the alarm can be set. Turning the inside knob to the locked position when exiting the vehicle *WILL NOT* activate the alarm system.

- The anti-theft alarm system horn has been moved from the left (driver's side) rear inner fender to the far left side (driver's side) of the engine compartment dash panel.

- The anti-theft alarm system flasher assembly is now located on the console trim plate, rather than the rear compartment underbody panel.

- The new anti-theft alarm system wiring diagram has been modified to reflect these changes.

Our Original Design Series™ wiring harnesses are manufactured exactly as the wiring was made when your vehicle left the factory in St. Louis. These harnesses are made to the exact O.E.M. (original equipment manufacturer) specifications, using the original factory blueprints, and are factory-correct in every way. These are full-assembled, ready to install, “plug & play” accurate reproduction wiring harnesses. You will NOT have to cut any wires, crimp any terminals, or make any modifications to these harnesses when installing them in your 1977 Corvette.
