1975-1979 C3 Front Bumper - TruFlex Fiberglass - Stock Style

Urethane front bumpers on 1975–1979 Corvettes have not aged gracefully. They often warp, crack, or deteriorate under UV exposure and time. This hand-laid TruFlex™ fiberglass replacement offers a smarter, longer-lasting solution for your C3. Designed as a stock-style front bumper with OE-style contours, it flexes slightly at the sides for better alignment to your specific body fit.

Manufactured by ACI using their proprietary flexible fiberglass blend, this TruFlex bumper arrives in white gray coat—ready for sanding, priming, and paint. It’s lighter, more durable, and far easier to work with than aging urethane.

UNDER THE STRAW HAT – Restorer’s Insight
These TruFlex bumpers are favored among restorers who want to eliminate future urethane failures while retaining stock styling. Their subtle flex helps compensate for inconsistencies in factory fiberglass, ensuring tight and consistent bumper-to-body alignment.

Original GM panels were press molded—a production process using high pressure and matched dies to produce thin, consistent fiberglass with smooth inner and outer surfaces. These parts were fast to manufacture but prone to stress cracking and distortion with age.
In contrast, hand-laid fiberglass is manually built up with resin-saturated mat, resulting in thicker, more durable panels that are stronger and easier to modify or reinforce. While slightly heavier and with a rougher backside, hand-laid panels are ideal for restorers seeking long-term structural integrity and excellent fitment—especially when factory press-molded panels are no longer available.
