Under the Straw Hat – Restorer’s Insight
GM didn’t begin using baffles in fuel tanks until May 1960. This updated tank adds that stability without compromising the OE profile—reducing fuel slosh, minimizing odor, and improving drive quality on curves or under load. A quiet upgrade with real-world benefit.

Tech Notes
All fuel tanks are manufactured with a sprayed-on interior rust inhibitor. This lining must be removed before installation to avoid clogging your carburetor or fuel injection system.

Tank Prep Instructions
• Seal all openings with rags and duct tape
• Add a cleaner (e.g., carburetor cleaner, acetone, MEK)
• Insert small hardware (nuts/bolts), then shake vigorously
• Repeat until fluid drains clear
• Remove rags, tape, and hardware
• Let tank dry completely before installation
