1955-1981 Fuel Pump Plate Gasket - GM
Any time your mechanical fuel pump is removed, it is a good idea to replace the fuel pump gasket to prevent engine oil leaks. Especially if gasket sealer has been used on both sides of the gasket, as the gasket is more likely to tear in this case. The old gasket and sealer will therefore need to be scraped off, and the metal surfaces cleaned and dried, to minimize the chance of leaks.
This gasket also works for electric fuel pump conversions where the mechanical fuel pump delete or block-off plate is installed.
