Installation does not require removing the complete shifter assembly — only the boot retainer and shift indicator need to be lifted. A 90-degree pick makes removing old harness wires and installing new wires in the retainers significantly easier.
Installation Note: While replacing the harness confirm the transmission lock-out solenoid is free from debris and operates smoothly with the shift lever in neutral. Check continuity between the two green and white wires in the female connector going to the shift solenoid. Install the heavy-duty roller switch with the yellow and white wire into the SW2 location marked on the shifter assembly. Install the heavy-duty roller switch with the blue and orange wire into the SW1 location. Install new harness and connector in factory wire retainers confirming all connectors are fully seated. Reinstall the shift indicator lamp socket with bulb — if installing an LED bulb connect positive to green and negative to black. Reinstall the shift boot confirming both front and rear clips are seated.
