Tools Required

  • Ratchet and sockets

  • Screwdrivers (Phillips and flathead)

  • Drill with 5/16 in. bit

  • Wire crimp tool

  • Jack and stands or lift

  • Shop towels and light lubricant

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Preparation

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  • Raise the front of the car safely on jack stands.

  • Remove the hood for easier access to headlight assemblies.

2. Remove Original Vacuum System

  • Disconnect vacuum hoses running to each headlight actuator.

  • Remove the vacuum actuators and brackets.

  • Cap or remove unused vacuum lines at the source.

3. Install Electric Actuators

  • Position the new electronic actuators in place of the originals.

  • Secure with the provided hardware, using existing mounting points where possible.

  • Lightly lubricate pivot points for smooth operation.

4. Mount the Control Module

  • Drill two 5/16 in. holes in the recommended location (template included with kit).

  • Bolt the headlight module to the chassis using the supplied hardware.

  • Ensure module is mounted securely and wiring is routed away from sharp edges.

5. Wiring Connections

  • Plug the actuator harnesses into the Delphi Weatherpack connectors.

  • Connect the main harness to the headlight switch power feed.

  • Confirm ground wire connections are clean and secure.

6. Test Operation

  • Reconnect the battery.

  • Cycle the headlights up and down using the switch.

  • Verify both sides operate smoothly and stop automatically when resistance is detected.

7. Reinstall Hood

  • Once operation is confirmed, reinstall the hood with proper alignment.

  • Lower the car from jack stands and road test the headlight function.

Supplemental Instructions (Noise & Vibration)

If noisy operation is detected:

  • Install the included rubber isolation pad between the actuator and bracket.

  • Ensure all bolts are torqued evenly and pivots are lubricated.

Troubleshooting

  • Both headlights fail to operate:
Check power and ground at the control module.

  • One headlight fails to open/close:
Confirm connector seating, verify ground wire at actuator.

  • Headlights stop mid-cycle:
Inspect for binding at pivots or obstructions in housing.

  • Noisy or jerky operation:
Add supplemental rubber pad; lubricate pivot arms.

Installation Notes

  • This kit uses a standard 1988–2004 Corvette actuator module.

  • Requires drilling two 5/16 in. holes only—no cutting or permanent modifications.
