The ballast resistor is designed to reduce the failure risk of your Corvette's ignition coil. When the starter motor cranks your engine, this resistor helps to reduce the coil voltage and coil current to maintain a low-temperature rise to result in a longer coil life.

This high quality, American made resistor has been accurately reproduced to provide a factory correct appearance for your Corvette. A GM licensed Delco Remy logo is stamped on this coil and it includes a half moon shaped mounting bracket and the correct black dot to identify the .3 ohm resistance.
