1956-1979 Distributor PERTRONIX Flame Thrower Ignitor II Billet
Our new plug and play Billet Distributor for Air Cooled VW Engines is designed to provide maximum ignition performance and easy installation, all at a price you can afford.
This Air Cooled VW Distributor allows you to upgrade your outdated points system with a performance proven distributor that features the patented Ignitor II electronic ignition module or our standard Ignitor electronics and a CNC machined 6061 T-6 polished billet housing and deck.
PerTronix electronics are also compatible with any inductive ignition system coil, but high RPM performance can be improved when used with our low resistant (0.6 ohm) Flame-Thrower II coil. If you’re using a multi-spark CD ignition box or a Pertronix Second Strike box, no problem, our distributors are compatible.
Additional features include a tempered .500” diameter shaft with low torsion displacement; an upper roller bearing and lower self-lubricating oil impregnated copper powder metal bushing and a durable machined heat-treated gear. Distributors come with a factory set performance curve, a mechanical advance limiting adjustment and high dielectric strength cap and rotor. Available with black or gray distributor cap.
Note: (313-836) Ignition cables required for this style of distributor and (119-173) .06 ohm 45,000v Coil.
Note: Early vehicles will need to be converted to 12 Volt to use this Distributor and the 119-173 Coil
