Quick to mind after mentioning Mid America Motorworks is one of two thoughts: Corvette and all that comes with the name - the cars, the attitude, the racing success, the personalities. The other thought is one of those personalities: Mike Yager, founder of the niche mail-order giant that puts parts and accessories in the hands of millions of 'Vette enthusiasts. Creating this inseparable connection is intentional.    Read more here...

Discovering a New Passion for Corvettes

Apr 2007

While on a trip through Effingham, Illinois, Robert Engel, went through Mike Yager's Garage and Museum at Mid America Motorworks. Coincidentally, the museum was in a period of transition. Instead of concentrating on low mileage, original Corvettes, they were making the change to "showcase automobiles that car lovers would not be able to see up close anywhere else." To make room, the museum was starting to sell off some of its low mileage collection. One of those cars was our feature 1981 Corvette.    Read more here...

Feb 2007

Every industry has a list of "players" - influential people, opinion leaders, and fixtures at major events. At SCM, there has always been a propensity for lists - "Ten Bargain exotics", "18 Best Vintage Events", "11 Ferraris You Should Avoid", etc. A list of people rather than cars, however, is something new not just for us but in the collector car world in general....     Read more here...
