Future Funfest Dates

Dear Mike, Laurie, Michael and Blake

So another FUNfest has come and gone, with more great memories with old friends.

Mike what you have created goes far beyond "car show" or "car event". Of course Corvettes are the common denominator but it's you, your family, your people who are the electricity, the excitement, that we have come to enjoy so much.

The improvements to your property have added so much dimension to the show, I can hardly wait for next year.

So once again, we thank you and your family for everything.

Sincerely,
Tom & Joy West
Fort Wayne, IN

Hi Mike,

Well, you and your associates did it again! Funfest 2006 was a terrific fun weekend as usual. It is the Corvette highlight of the year for us. Please compliment your staff on their friendliness, honesty, and helpful attitude. Having recently retired after 40 years in management, it is wonderful to find such enthusiasm among people. I was afraid that it was a lost art! When I placed my order at the show for several items, Jeremy was upfront with me as to why an item was no longer available. This is the way to do business and why we are huge fans of Mid-America Motorworks.

Happy holidays, Mike, and we look forward to seeing you in 2007!

Just wanted to say "Thank You" for the great time I had at this years Funfest.

This was my first year, but won't be my last. I came up with other members of the Mid-Missouri Corvette Club.

Just wanted to let you know that this years FunFest was Great!!! Bigger and better than last year. I can't wait until next year. The Mid America people are just great. All are very friendly.

Dear Mike and Laurie,

Corvette FunFest 2006 was outstanding and I cannot thank you enough for including myself and some of the NCCC Executive Board as your VIP guests. This was my 3rd FunFest event and each year, I leave thinking that this cannot get any better or any more fun but your "family" of employees always does a super job to entertain your guests and the entire Corvette community.

From start to finish, from breakfast to dinner, from car show to the entertainment, your company goes to the limit to provide the hospitality that shows how much you appreciate the Corvette family. Several firsts for me that occurred were attendance at the art exhibit at your home on Friday evening. What a special night! Your home is absolutely beautiful and the food was wonderful. I can still taste that prosciutto bread. Another first was participating as a celebrity judge. It was so much fun looking at the Corvettes although I am sure I did not see all of them. There were so many!! And REO Speedwagon was super! I had told Lori Worman and Cheryl Habing last year that the Beach Boy show was one of my most fun evenings at a Corvette event but I think this years' concert may have been even more fun.

Thank you so much for allowing NCCC to have a space at the event to promote our membership and charity activities. Your recognition of NCCC as well as your support is greatly appreciated.

Needless to say, I cannot wait until next year! Thanks again!

Sincerely,
Debbie Lindsey
NCCC Director of Sponsorship

Mike,

Very nice of you to take time to email us. I know I speak for all members of the Grand Sport Registry when I say THANK YOU for a really GREAT time at this year's FunFest event. You certainly made us "skunkers" feel at home and very special. Your facilty was beautiful and every single staff member we came across were warm and friendly. Well done!

As I've told everyone that I run into, Mike Yager knows how to throw one heckuva party! The REO concert was great. Be sure to tell your evil twin, "Bill", thanks. :)

If you can afford him, another great concert would be Jimmy Buffet. Just ply him with plenty of margaritas!
I intend to put FunFest on my list of must-do events from now on and my wife, Patti, is already looking forward to attending with me next year.

Thank you for all you do for the Corvette community. You have a new found fan here, believe me. If there is anything that I or the Grand Sport Registry can do, don't hesitate to contact me.
All the best and don't buy any broken down rickshaws. :)

"A Legend Reborn!"

Dear Mike,

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone for the outstanding courtesy and friendliness extended to us last weekend at Corvette Funfest 2006. When we closed the doors on our 1990 red Corvette convertible and headed to Effingham, we expected a completely different weekend than what we experienced.

After stopping at the Route 57 rest stop just north of Route 70 our Vette died. Many friendly Corvette owners stopped to assist - to no avail. I called Mid America and was connected with Kenny Yager. He was very accommodating and suggested we bring the car out to the Fest where a trouble shooter was available. He gave us the name of Heartland Towing Service, Steve arrived with their truck and we were on our way.

Kenny met us with understand and kindness and introduced us to Gordon Killebrew who was at Funfest leading the C4 Corvette Troubleshooting Seminar. It didn't take him long to diagnose the problem - only 3 of 8 injectors were firing. Gordon introduced us to "Smokey" who had graduated from his school. He offered to do the repair near Gordon's Seminar Location to utilize Gordon's tools. Your catalog salesman Derek was extremely helpful in securing the needed parts, even helping us find the parts not available on site. The ladies at parts pick-up searched the telephone directory for numbers and addresses of parts dealers. During the repair, other corvette owners stopped to offer assistance, tools and moral support. Smokey's wife Cindy and Gordon's wife Chris were both extremely understanding and helpful also.

We wanted you to know how much we appreciate good Corvette people of middle America. They don't come any better! We have enclosed some snapshots of this experience that could have been a real pain but instead was heartwarming. Again, thanks to everyone who went out of their way to assist us in our time of need.

Sincerely,
Galen and Maralyn Heckman

Dear Mike, Laurie & Sons

We had a great time at funfest and enjoyed the art show around the bow-tie pool. The concert did kick-ass and really showed your commitment to the entire Corvette community.

Dear Mike and Laurie

Elene and I can not fine the words to thank you for including us in your magnificent funfest this year. It was really marvelous. We had a fantastic time. Both of you give so much love to this community. Your generosity and kindness are exemplary. We are privileged and honored to be your friends! I personally had a great time using my camera. It was FUN!! The concert was a "Blast." That evening was one of the best in a life time.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
We Love You!!

Dear Mike and Laurie

I believe all too often we fail to acknowledge people for the wonderful things they do for others. After another impressive funfest, I would like to add my small voice to the choir of people who applaud or should applaud, you both for all you do for Effingham. The impact of your business in this community defies description. Thank you for your generosity, hard work and compassion. We are all blessed to know you and have you both in this community.

With Sincerity and Thanks
John Kay

Dear Mike and Laurie,

The two of you deserve huge accolades for all that you do for the community. I think the funfest event is a tribute to your love of Effingham. I was informed last night at my first St. Anthony School Board meeting of the huge success the Corvette raffle is to our school system. Your generosity in opening your doors to the school and encouraging your customers to buy tickets is exemplary! Thank you for your willingness to help St Anthony and for all you do for Effingham.

Best Regards
Jim Schultz

Mr. & Mrs. Yager,

On behalf of the students attending St Anthony schools, we are extending a heartfelt "Thank You." Without your involvement in the Corvette raffle, this successful fundraiser would not be possible. Please know we greatly appreciate your commitment to our schools.

Thank You
St Anthony Board of Education

Dear Laurie & Mike,

What a great three days at funfest!

Thank you for inviting me to show my artwork and especially thank you for the lovely party on Friday evening. Your staff did an excellent job of managing every detail to perfection. I was very impressed. It was a real treat to be with so many fabulous Corvettes and the people who love them. And thank you also for the fine weather and lower gas prices your influence is indeed well placed.

Sincerely
Naima Rauam

This was our second trip to the Fun Fest. When we found out that REO was going to be the band on Saturday night, we decided to do a week vacation with the Fun Fest starting off our vacation.

First thing thanks for all you organization does. Besides my wife and I loving Corvettes, we love REO. They are one of our all time favorite bands.

We are fortunate that we don't live that far away and have made a couple of stops at the Mid America Campus. Each time we are very pleased with the caliber of employees you have.

While we were at the event we were speaking with Jim Browning (I believe is the owner of Corsa Exhausts)and Bob, They spent quite a bit of time explaining the features of their systems. Then he made his recommendations based on what we were expecting. He was right on target.

We then went to make a appointment for the install to find that there weren't any opening. Eric Roley gave us his card so that we could call the following week to make an appointment for the install. Which is what we did. He checked on the availability of the Corsa Pace Car system and the x-pipe. Eric then turned us over to Russell to line up the install. Russell had to call us back once the time and date was lined up. Then we were really impressed when it was time for the install. Ben (the tech) came in and introduced himself. Once the install was completed, He came back for us to listen to the car. Eric when he found out that we were in the waiting room came to see that everything was ok.

Thanks again to Eric, Russell, and Ben for their help to get our vacation start and finish on a good note.

I was looking thru the pictures taken at this years Funfest and thought I would send you a picture of our club if you would care to post it. Everyone had a very good time and plan on attending next years show as well.

Again, Thank You.

Our club wanted to thank you for setting up our tents and the excellent placement next to the Gate 4 road. We got to park close and see a lot of Vettes come an go. Many of our club members commented on the tent site and how nice it was to have a gathering place for our members. You did an excellent job and we look forward to next year. If we could get the same spot, that would be wonderful. Thank you.

Just wanted to thank you for the Club Parking at Funfest. Our parking spot was great. We really enjoyed being so close to the main road as we were able to see a lot of the Corvettes drive by.

Looking forward to next year.

This was our first year attending the Corvette Funfest. It was much more than we expected. We would like to thank all involved for making this event such a success. You have a very professional and friendly crew, well organized. REO Speedwagon put on an excellent show also, we have not seen them for several years and they are as great as ever. We were wondering if you had an estimate of the total number of Corvettes their and how many people attended the concert. Once again thanks for a great time.

Terry and Teresa Onstott

Also while waiting for REO, Their was a song played while setting up the stage by "Grand Funk Railroad" called "Were an American Band" I'd like to recommend them as a possible choice for next year. The American band would be a good choice for the American Sportscar. I looked on the internet and they have a website www.Grandfunkrailroad.com

Saturday was our first ever Funfest; it was fantastic.

Thank you very much for a great event

My wife and I attended our first Funfest over this past weekend. We had a wonderful time. Your staff was truly gracious and knowledgeable and helped make our stay extremely pleasant. What a great way to get people together for a weekend of good clean fun. We are already planning our next trip back to your place. Again thank you so much. We are very grateful.

Respectfully,

Mid America,
My wife and I just got home from a great day at Funfest. I had to write because one of your employees went the extra mile for a customer.

As in years past, everyone we dealt with was friendly and extremely proficient at taking care of all the customers needs. However, there was one employee who we feel went way beyond our expectations.

When we arrived, one of the first stops we made was at the Borla exhaust booth. We had hoped to hear and if we liked the exhaust, purchase and have it installed at Funfest. Everyone at Borla was great. We decided to purchase a $1300 exhaust!! We were told to go the Mid America both to see if the exhaust was available and schedule a time for installation. You can imagine our disappointment when we were told that Mid America was out of that exhaust. One of your employees "Jason" (we never got his last name) was sure that he had a set but several other employees told him that they knew Mid America was out. We were told that we could still purchase the exhaust and have them shipped to us free of charge. Well, that wasn't what we wanted as finding someone in our area to install the exhaust would have been difficult. So with great disappointment, we thanked everyone and continued trying to enjoy ourselves.

About 15 minutes later, as we were making our way around the exhibits, Jason came up to us and told us that he had been looking for us! He told us that he had found the exhaust we wanted and had made several trips around the grounds in hopes that he would find us. He knew who we were even with such a short conversation. He said that if he hadn't found us on his own, he had planned on making an announcement over the "PA" hoping to round us up.

You can't imagine how excited we were! First to be able to purchase the exhaust and have them installed today, but also that an employee would take the extra time to look for a customer like this. I'm sure that someone else would have bought the exhausts and Jason would not have had to find us.

We know how important Customer Care is to a business! We want you to know that Jason went way beyond what we think was expected of him. He even came back around during the exhaust installation to make sure everything went well and that we were happy with all aspects of the purchase.
My wife and I don't know what, if anything, your company does to recognize this type of commitment to customers. We just wanted to take the time to let you know how much we appreciated Jason's help.

Thanks for a great day and please, thank Jason for being a great employee!

Steve and Cathy Hartley

Please thank Mike and Laurie for the gift and wonderful Saturday at the Funfest. Ended up coming with my oldest son, toured the grounds, rode in the helicopter, touched the filling station once owned by dad, ate a great dinner and just smiled the whole time. Thank you again. I had written about three newspaper articles on it over the years. Now I've experienced it. Awesome.

Still say that Mike Yager is America's dream of the business person. He's a great example. It's his smile and attitude. Helps to have an awesome family with him. Really like Laurie's personality with the public. She's kind.

I WAS JUST WANTING TO TELL YOU ALL, THAT MY WIFE AND I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED OUR DAY AT THE FUNFEST THIS YEAR. THIS WAS OUR 5TH YEAR AND WE HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED YOUR FUNFEST.

WE THOUGHT THE REO SPEEDWAGON CONCERT WAS AWESOME. THANK YOU FOR A GREAT DAY AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

BILL AND JANET ASHBY

Mike Yager, family and Staff,

You sure know how to throw a party. This was our 1st Funfest and we plan on attending again next year. A great event!! It is a pleasure doing business with your company. My husband loved the MY Museum. You must be doing something right. Every .. and I mean every one of your staff was so helpful and courteous. From the staff in the parking lot to the sales staff. I would like to mention one of your salesman - Jody Kalber. He was so knowledgeable and really knew your products. We ordered something that needed to have a special order number and he told us that he would call us back on Monday. He did call on Monday as promised. You just don't see that kind of service anymore. Your staff is excellent. A special thanks also goes out to the parking attendant that allowed my husband to move the cones in order to get a picture of his 2003 Anniversary Edition Corvette parked in front of your building on the little "racetrack". We also got pictures at the 1910 gas station and the "Corvette Assembly Plant" sign. We did not win the Corvette - but we will try again next year. We used to belong to the Harley Owners Group and attended many of their events. They need to take lessons from you on how to throw a party!! REO Speedwagon was a great concert (brought back lots of memories from this 50 plus couple) I have only one suggestion - the money could also go to a charity. $5.00 Vette Photo at the Racetrack or Gas station. I would have loved to have gotten a photo of both of us standing by our car at either of these locations. We take photos but we are in the pictures separately.

Thanks again for a great weekend!!

P.S. My husband HAD to buy a hat like Mike's!!

We just returned from our first visit to Fun Fest, WOW! Did we have a great time. I do not usually send e-mails thanking people, but I must send one to thank everyone there who were so friendly and helpful. Mike must be a very good cheerleader because the people who we met were outstanding. I know that in the future my Corvette parts will come from Mid American, you guys and gals are the best. We are already looking forward to next year, who knows maybe one day we will even become VIP customers. Once again thanks for a memorable weekend.

Jeryy Wells

Many thanks for the great show, hospitality and "FUN". There may have been too much to look at... my neck hurts! Be sure to forward my appreciation to Mike and his family. They throw a heck of a party. Now, I am spending all my spare time on the internet looking for old Vettes, and REO Speedwagon records!!!

Thanks again,
