Mid America Motorworks supports National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Effingham, Ill. – Mid America Motorworks is offering a special e-mail promotion in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Select Corvette and Volkswagen products with a “touch of pink” will be offered to customers via the company’s weekly e-mail Oct. 28. In return, Mid America Motorworks will donate $2 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every item sold.

“Breast cancer has affected my family multiple times,” said Mike Yager, Chief Cheerleader at Mid America Motorworks. “I support Breast Cancer Awareness because it’s important to make sure everyone is aware of the disease and how to prevent it.”

The weekend of Corvette festivities kicks off with a line up of special events on Thursday beginning with “Lunch with Mike” – whereby attendees enjoy a fun lunch with Mid America Motorworks’ very own chief cheerleader, Mike Yager. Then from 1:30-3:30pm, the Effingham Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a free guided bus tour showcasing two outstanding area businesses, John Boos & Co and The Firefly Grill. The day ends with a choice of attending the popular Corvette Fun Run & downtown Street Pary or the “Cars and Stars” Charity event at the Yager’s home. The $100 per person donation will benefit the Catholic Charity 7-county Foster Children Program. Advance registration is required for all the special Thursday events.

The Mid America Motorworks family is proud to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation in finding ways to end breast cancer. Each year, this far-reaching disease afflicts more than 200,000 U.S. women. More than 40,000 women lose their battle with the disease annually. Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer among U.S. women, behind skin cancer. It is also the second leading cause of death, following lung cancer.

Early detection is still one of the best forms of defense against breast cancer. Encourage your mother, daughter, sister, wife – all the women in your life – to schedule a regular mammogram. For more information about NBCAM, please visit: www.nbcam.org
